Choosing reference images for an AI video
A practical checklist for clearer subjects, simpler scenes and original video ideas.
Make the subject easy to read
Start with a sharp photo that clearly separates the main subject from the background. A simple pose gives an image-to-video template a more understandable starting point than a crowded scene with overlapping people or animals. Look closely at the face, hands, paws and any object the subject is holding.
Avoid expecting a blurry or heavily cropped source to become a detailed performance automatically. Choose another photo when the important part of the subject is missing. Keep the original file available so you can compare the eventual result against your reference.
Match the image to the idea
For a pet performance, choose a photo where the pet’s markings and proportions are visible. For a motion template, leave space around the subject instead of cropping tightly against the frame. A clean background can help keep attention on the main action.
Use the selected template’s preview to decide whether your idea fits the reference style. A concert, a dance and a surreal running scene call for different compositions. The preview is an example of the style, not a guarantee that every image will produce the same movement.
Keep two-image inputs consistent
The creation form allows one required image and one optional image. If you add a second, choose it for a clear reason: another view of the subject or a supporting visual reference. Avoid conflicting identities, very different lighting or unrelated backgrounds unless that contrast is part of the intended idea.
The current interface accepts JPG, PNG or WebP up to 8 MB per image. Images stay local until generation begins. There is no draft-saving step.
Check permissions and availability
Use your own photos or images you are authorized to use. Do not assume a publicly visible video or photo is available for reuse. You can study a trend’s timing and framing while creating a new scene with your own material.
Paid video generation is not open yet. Explore templates and credit packs for the current workflow and planned options. Questions about images or account access can go through the contact form.
